The idea of a couple not seeing each other before they walk down the aisle comes from a superstition that it would cause bad luck for the couples future.  While this may still ring true to some couples, a lot of couples have taken to the idea of a first look. Whether you choose to sneak-a-peak before you say “I Do” or you share that moment at the aisle, seeing your significant for the first time on your wedding day is one of the most special moments everybody pictures!

When you choose to see each other before walking down the aisle, you get the opportunity to share a peaceful, beautiful moment between the two of you before the chaos of the day sweeps you away. At lot of couples who choose to do a first look say that it was the best decision they made because they had the share to connect with their person. After all you are marrying your significant other because they are the one person who understands you better than you understand yourself. Who else would you want to spend your last few seconds of quiet with before your big day?

Even if you don’t want to actually see each before the wedding, you can still connect with one another. A lot of couples choose to write notes to each other which are read while they are getting ready. Other couples choose to stand behind a door or be in the same room with each without seeing the other person. This allows you to still talk and be with one another, maybe even hold hands before walking down the aisle.
