The wedding dress trend that I want to cover today is all about the back! The back of the dress may seem irrelevant compared to the front of your gown, however there are lots of times throughout the wedding where your guests are going to be seeing you from behind. Think about your grand entrance…walking down the aisle! As you pass your guests, why not give them a breathtaking view of the back of your dress as they watch you make your way to the altar. Having an interesting back to your dress doesn’t mean you have to leave skin completely exposed or completely covered. In fact, there are so many different designs for the back of a dress that any bride can find something they feel comfortable in! Here two types of dresses currently in style that highlight the back of a bride: the lace backed and the jeweled backed wedding dress!

One way to compromise a covered back with an open back is to look for a lace back. Lack backs are extremely flattering and they provide coverage without being extremely conservative, since some skin is still showing! Wedding gowns with lace backs are very feminine and also work well with vintage weddings. Lace backed gowns are often intricate so the back of your dress is beautifully detailed! You can even incorporate lace into your wedding décor for an elegant atmosphere that matches the elegance of your dress!

There is another way to make sure the back of your dress is noticed by all the guests, a jeweled back dress! This is the perfect dress for brides who want to sparkle and be especially eye-catching. These gowns are all about glamour. Similar to the lace backed dress, they provide some exposure without being too modest. Jeweled dresses have a sort of “Cinderella” feel and any bride who wears one will be able to feel like a princess on her wedding day!

Those are just two examples of dresses with attention grabbing backs that are currently in style, however there are simpler styles just as beautiful! You don’t have to wear lace or jewels to have a great dress. The main point is just to make sure a bride chooses a dress that looks great all around. On your big day you want to look great from ALL angles, so don’t forget to make sure you love the back of your dress just as much as the front!
